Earlsdale is a rich and diverse realm between mountains to the west, north, and east, bordered by wetlands and marshes to the south. The Western mountains are home to the city of Marbek, an independent religious stronghold dedicated to the god Kortis.

The realm's geography is characterized by numerous fertile valleys, known as dales, where the majority of the population resides. From the towering Watles mountains in the north flow the grand rivers Eissack, Etsch, and Vinshgau, all converging into the Silent Sea. The Ahnensea, a vast central lake, provides both cultural significance and essential resources, surrounded by lush woodlands that add to Earlsdale's natural beauty.

In the south, the port city of Lakaven serves as a hub for maritime trade, linking Earlsdale with distant lands. This city lies within the Duchy of Martsch, which has recently fallen under occupation by Glurns, leading to political unrest and turmoil.

Earlsdale is divided into three distinct Duchies: Karneid in the north, Jarl in the west and central regions, and Martsch in the southeast. Each Duchy has its unique character and leadership, with the Duke of Jarl preparing for coronation, and the Duke of Martsch in captivity.

The borders of the realm, especially near the mountains, are wilder and more untamed, hosting communities and clans that live in a delicate balance with goblin kin and troglodyte tribes. The dense Wargaswald forest marks the southeast boundary, creating a natural barrier to the Glurnser city-states.

Recent events have seen the rise of the Falcon League, a faction of lesser gentry, civil servants, and merchants exerting influence over politics and trade. Adventuring bands and spies, like the renowned Phillip von Koburg, add layers of intrigue and opportunity to Earlsdale's complex society.

Southwest of Earlsdale lies Aman, an occupied buffer state that constantly reminds of the lurking threat of Kaldor's conquest.

Rich in history, culture, and conflict, Earlsdale is a realm shaped by its geography and the ambitions of its people, constantly evolving and adapting to the changing tides of politics, power, and the mysterious influence of the Feyline.
